Our center is specialized in state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for hematology / oncology
diseases and bone marrow/stem cell transplantation for adults and children.
It was founded in 1994 by the Stefan-Morsch-Foundation. The first bone marrow donor registry
in Germany was established in 1986. Since 1997, our center is affiliated to "Saarland Heilstaetten
Group" (SHG) which operates several hospitals and rehabilitation centers in South West Germany.
Our hematology /oncology and bone marrow transplantation center is integrated in the "Klinikum
Idar-Oberstein GmbH", a tertiary care and teaching hospital of the Faculty of Medicine, University
of Mainz, federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The Center is located in Idar-Oberstein city that
belongs to Rhineland-Palatinate State, South West Germany, only 130 Km away from Frankfurt
City and Airport. Idar-Oberstein is a well known center of the German gemstone industry surrounded
by a beautiful landscape.
