At our inpatient center we are treating patients with acute and chronic leukemias, lymphomas,
thalassemias and other hematological and oncological diseases.
Chemotherapies, high dose therapies, autologous and especially allogenous bone marrow and
periphal blood stem cell tranplantations from related and unrelated donors are our focus.
To date (June 2005) more than 700 patients have been transplanted with bone marrow or peipheral
blood stem cells, including 80 pediatric patients. The proportion of transplantas with an unrelated donor
is more than 50 %.
Our inpatient center for adults inlcudes 2 wards with single bed rooms for transplantation and
double bed rooms for hematological and onclolgical treatments.
All rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art filter technology (HEPA) thus providing a maximum
of sterility. Patients can welcome visitors at any time, even during the isolation period.
Apart from stem cell transplantations, patients can be offered a variety of chemo- and radiotherapeutic
and immunological treatment options based on national and international multicenter clinical protocols.
